YASHDEV SAHANS

Yashdev Sahans has been an eager and talented musician since a young age, pursuing piano since the age of  7. Yashdev achieved his grade 8 in piano in 2020, as well as his diploma in music theory. He has also become a skilled acoustic and electric guitar player, which allowed him to play his favourite styles of music, later leading him into composition. His interests and admiration of a large variety of musical styles led him to pursue a music degree at Royal Holloway University of London, graduating with focus on Composing with Technology in July 2023.

During the course of his degree he has gained skills and knowledge in composing for screen, game and commercial use (library music). He created a variety of projects including a Spiderman video game music re-composition and composing for a student short film. Due to his love for video games, he felt inspired to write music for them, particularly after studying the history and process behind video game music.  He has experience with the use of a variety of DAWs including Reaper and Protools. Recently he has explored further techniques behind video game composition, gaining the skills to Wwise.

He then completed a PGCE at UCL, Institute of Education where he has increased his musicianship, taken a break on composition and decided to dedicate on improving his pedagogy. With this, he has decided to use the Kodaly Methodology to teach students in classrooms and continues to use a varitey of teaching methods to further develop his professionalism. 

 

After taking a break​, he is starting to collaborate with Indie video game creators and designers, writing music for a multi-cultural jump and run game.

Yashdev has been creating a portfolio of a range of music composition, interested in collaborating on fun projects in the media and game industry.
